Cleary’s dynamic leadership has led to the launch of several Parent and Child satellite programs along with our Nature Trail program. Stephanie has served as an assistant in the Nursery and Kindergarten, as well as the Afternoon Early Childhood program. She holds an undergraduate degree in Art, as well as Waldorf Early Childhood certification along with a range of professional Waldorf certifications. Other program revenues and expenses include after-school program, thecafeteria, the parent child program, the bookstore and other miscellaneous revenues.Stephanie Cleary is one of the lead teachers in the Parent & Child Program and is the facilitator of the Simplicity Parenting program as both coach and counselor. Serving children ages three to thirteen, the camp includes both half and full day programs, with a wide variety of age appropriate activities designed to engage the interest and enthusiasm of campers from preschool to teenagers. "summer at the waldorf school", a day camp located on our garden city campus, enrolled 257 students during the summer of 2016.
Studentsparticipated in academic programs enhanced by glen brook resources, developed new skills through practical work, and experienced social growth through shared community living. The visiting schools program supportedapproximately 236 students from the waldorf school of garden city and200 children from other private and public schools. The two three-week sessions emphasize harmony ofmind, body, and spirit through traditional activities such as games andsports, art and music, nature study, camping, swimming, canoeing, andcaring for animals. Approximately 197campers, representing 20 waldorf schools and numerous public schoolsfrom across the united states, participated in the glen brook 2016summer camp program. Thewaldorf curriculum, which is inter-disciplinary and experientiallyoriented, meets the needs of our students at each stage of their balancing intellectual rigor with artistic expression andpurposeful activity. Additional programs such as the preschoolafternoon playgroup, extended day program, and homework club, alongwith a wide range of after-school sports and activities resulting in aschool day beginning at 7:30am and often extending beyond 6:00pm. An additional 140 familiesparticipated in the parent child program which immerses the young childin an environment that supports healthy, age appropriate sensory,social and emotional development and offers relaxing activity andconversation for the adults.
